American Chopper live Build-Off 12/5/11

Three-way build-off between Paul Teutul Sr.Paul Teutul Jr. and Jesse James
Special two-hour episode Monday, Dec. 5, at 9 p.m.

American Chopper FINALE and Bike Reveals Dec.5th at 9pm
Chopper Live Sweepstakes Winner Announced Dec. 6th at 9pm.

Fasten your seatbelt. Paul Teutul Sr. and Paul Teutul Jr. are about to go head to head – or helmet to helmet – as they put their personal issues aside and get down to business.

But it’s not just the Teutuls who will be putting their skills and their ego on the line.  Jesse James, who made his television debut on the Discovery Channel, will return to the network for the first time since 2006 to take on the Teutuls.  James will be joining father and son in his attempt to prove that one doesn’t need the surname Teutul to win the title of master bike builder.  After all, James’ Discovery documentary, Motorcycle Mania, paved the road for the motorcycle revolution that hit television in the years that followed.

Jesse James and the Teutuls previously shared time on the network with their respective shows, but now these combustible characters will share the same stage for the first time.  The fierce competition and live results special will test the breaking points of the Teutuls family feud and Jesse James’ notoriously hot temper.

Coming on the heels of American Chopper’s return to Discovery Channel last year, the veteran show will take its success to new levels with its first LIVE event. In this two-night special, Chopper fans will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite bike after seeing the three finished products during our regularly scheduled American Chopper on Monday, Dec. 5, at 9pm ET/PT.  The following evening, Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 9:00pm ET/PT, American Chopper Live will air straight from the strip in downtown Las Vegas, NV.  What better place than Sin City to crown the winner of this unique bike building competition?

Will Senior’s years of experience give him the edge?  Will Junior’s younger outlook lead him to victory?  Or will wild card Jesse James wipe the floor with the two of them?

The upcoming build-off on American Chopper should prove quite interesting.

BIKER BUILD-OFF is a reality television series for the Discovery Channel. Created and narrated by Thom Beers, the series was originally conceived as a single special called The Great Biker Build-Off. The show proved so popular that more episodes were produced in succeeding years, to the point that it was turned into a regular series (and its name shortened to just Biker Build-Off) in 2005.

Premise of the show ~ Two reputed custom motorcycle builders from different parts of the country—usually with very different styles of building—each build a unique custom bike in their respective style, pitting their teams and expertise against each other to see who is the better builder.

Format ~ Biker Build-Off was originally an irregularly-grouped series (termed "rounds") of contests that spanned a calendar year. The original Great Biker Build-Off was a single competition. In 2003, the second round had three contests, and the third round (2004) had six. In 2005, the program was turned into a regular series in which each round would feature a total of 13 contests each. There has also been a World Biker Build-Off special (pitting three international bikers) in 2004.  Read More

AMERICAN CHOPPER is a reality television series that airs on Discovery Channel, produced by Pilgirim Films & Television.  The series centers on Paul Teutul, Sr. and his son Paul Teutul, Jr. (also known as Paulie and simply Junior, respectively), who manufacture custom motorcycles. Orange County Choppers is in Newburgh, New York. The contrasting attitudes of the two men and their propensity for argument often lead to heated exchanges as they meet unusually short deadlines for building distinctive custom choppers.

Originally aired on Discovery Channel beginning in March 2003. In December 2007 the series moved to Discovery's sister channel TLC, starting off with an 18-hour marathon. Its first TLC season premiered in January 2008. Season 6 began in April 2009 but the series was canceled by TLC in February 2010. In July 2010 TLC announced that the Teutuls would return in a new series, American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior. Senior vs. Junior premiered on TLC but was soon moved to Discovery halfway through the first season.  Read More
